It was nice of them to call me a Blues Legend, I don't consider myself one. I do think I bring a unique take on music in general and songs in particular. I'm not known as a songwriter although I occasionally write a tune. I do look forward to performing as a Singer as well as Harmonica and Guitar work.
I’ve played and performed Blues Music most of my adult life, although I also perform Soul, Funk and old school R&B (James Brown, Wilson Picket..Sam and Dave stuff) . I’m kind of a music junky, I’ll listen to just about anything provided it’s well done.
I’m originally from the Pacific Northwest where I lived all of my life until September of 2013 when I moved to the mountains of Western North Carolina. I’m fortunate to still be performing here in the South. I currently am a member of one of the top rated Blues Rock bands in Western North Carolina, The Mattocks – Johnson Band perform on a regular basis locally here in the Mountains. Harmonica is my primary instrument as is Singing. Playing guitar is also fun for me (but a lot of work) and I also have a primitive skill level with Keys.
Since moving here in 2013 I have traveled back to the Northwest seven times including this last October 2023. Each time taking about a month to tour the Seattle and surrounding area and parts of Central Washington, Montana and Idaho. I keep expanding the area of gig touring each time I make a trip out. Typically, I hire musicians local to where I have a gig when out on the road. I hope one day to be able to bring along a full band when I tour but at the moment that doesn’t work financially. I’m fortunate to know and perform with many talented musicians both here in the south and when on tour.
